Inside home…

I promised more “After” photos a while back, and I haven’t forgotten – it’s just a very gradual process, setting up house:).  But we’ve made a lot of progress since we moved in at the beginning of March, and I’m slowly taking pictures for the “Before & After” album.  If this bores you, sorry.  I’m a dork and I get very excited at the sight of labeled white boxes.  Just ask my husband;).

I have been completed inspired by Chez Larsson’s amazing blog – her photos prompted me to finally get these projects done.

These are the wall-mounted shelves above my photo studio office (which, coincidentally, sits in the front corner of our living room!).  Yummy white boxes are from IKEA.

I finally got our recycling system in order, too.  The tubs above are also from IKEA.  Tub 1: returnable cans and bottles.  Tub 2: wide mouth plastics #1-7.  Tub 3: Glass.  I guess you could just read the labels, too.  Anyway…

Below is the rest of the system.  We have curbside recycling here in town, but they don’t take everything.  We have a separate bin for non-corrugated cardboard, and then the bin on the right is for all the curbside-acceptable stuff.  Neat, eh?

I don’t have a picture of it, but we also finally have our compost bin set up outside for all the food scraps.  Anything that can’t be composted or recycled goes into the little door-mounted bin under the sink.  Thankfully, it doesn’t fill up very fast and that makes me happy.  Are we NorthWestern or what?  I love it!  And contrary to the Oregon Granola stereotypes, I do not wear socks and birkenstalks.;)

Next projects [if you care]: Installing the gallery shelving for photo displays, and changing the hideous light fixture in the bathroom.
