Pardon me, your vegetables are sprouting

sneaky sweet potato | June 08

Sad, isn’t it?
I love vegtables.  And all fruits.  I really, really do.
It’s just that sometimes I buy them, and though I be full of good intentions, they get lost in the crevices of the fridge and I forget to eat them.

This particular sweet potato is the star of my post for this reason:  I have been doing my absolute darndest to do all my pilates and my cardio, and eat healthy every day.  But this little potato got away from me, as have SO many of my illusions about getting in shape and healthy.

“Exercise will give you more energy!”

Are you kidding me?  After a long, sweaty walk all I want to do is crawl in bed!

“The endorphins released through exercise will surpress your appetite!”

Bull!  No, really.  I could eat a whole bull.  Never in my life have I craved so much protein.

But I keep reminding myself that I have never had to start from this point before. It’s just an adjustment period. Eventually, my body is going to catch up with my head and say, “OH, THIS is what you’re going for. Gotcha.”

Right?  RIGHT?!
