OMSI Photo Shoot + a CONTEST!

I got to do a photo shoot earlier this week for the Oregon Connection Academy OMSI event.  I hadn’t been there in years.  What a blast!  I need to go back there sometime when I’m not “on the clock” and just play with all the toys;).

This was an awesome night for Connections Academy, too.  They were expecting about 600 current and prospective students.  1,000 showed up!  It was HUGE.

I of course cannot show you any photos of students, but I can show you these two.  OMSI was a really fun place to shoot, especially since it was at night and they have all kinds of cool lighting features in the Mind Bender Mansion right now (which is there until Jan. 4th – you should go check it out).

This was a pretty sweet game.  And I am jealous that I didn’t get to play;).  Questions showed up on a screen, then you had to jump on the board to the right letters to spell the answer.  The whole thing lights up red when you finish your turn.  Good stuff.  Knowledge is power!

And now for the “Etc.” part.

As you may know by now, Mike and I challenged ourselves to 15 days of No Spending.  The rules were to only buy the absolute necessities: gas for photo shoots and so on, oatmeal, milk.  Today is day 15.  We made it!  And with only two indulgences, both celebratory.

Indulgence #1 – Mike qualified for the second tryouts on Jeopardy.  It was late.  We were still over an hour away from home.  And it was JEOPARDY for crying out loud.  So we went to the 50′s Cafe for lunch.

Indulgence #2 – OMSI day was a big success.  We hadn’t had any ice-cream in over 2 weeks (umm…that’s kind of long time for us squishy sweet-tooths).  We saw coldstone.  We went in.  It was sacrilicious.

Other than that, PURE NON-SPENDERS ARE WE!  Yay!  And now it’s off to pick up my brother-in-law.  He’s coming to stay with us for two nights, and tomorrow night we are going to something BIG.  And I mean BIG.

Here are your Clues for the CONTEST:
1- It’s in Portland
2- It’s stereotypically something that gay guys would love
3- There is a French accent involved.

If you know the answer because we already told you, you can’t guess.  The first person to guess correctly gets a Special Video Blog featuring Puppet Heather and Puppet Mike in their honor.
Good luck!
