Wow.
Okay, let me first be up front and tell you that I have not listened to Celine Dion by choice since I was in middle school. Back then, I thought she was the bee’s knees. I had her on cassette tape. I think I even did a routine or two to Celine songs. Since then, however, I’ve only heard the occasional “my heart will go on” on the radio in grocery stores and such. But I have to say this concert was kick-ass. She’s quality entertainment! The lights, the dancers, the musicians, the back-up singers — all stellar.
My brother-in-law Shane is a HUGE fan, as I’m sure you know now. I am sorry we didn’t get to do a post-concert interview with him and Puppet Mike & Heather, but I can show you a few pictures from the experience.
Shane, thank you SO much for gifting Mike & I with tickets to come and see this AMAZING show with you! We had such a good time!
Here is Shane while we were waiting for the doors to open…

13 min. to showtime!

Check out all the rad lights. That’s the violinist in the front there – he was incredible.

Lots of awesome dance numbers and screen projections…

And for the last encore, she did the Titanic song. And you know what? Though highly overplayed, that song is absolutely gorgeous. Especially live, with Celine surrounded by candles. Hooray.

All in all, we had a BLAST.
Next up: Christian’s senior session in downtown Portland!

Tara Sanderson - OH MY GOSH!! Great Pictures! Love the ones of Shane! The last one of the Titanic song is fabulous!
Tara
Heather España - Alisa: hi! No, Celine did not to “lady marmalade”
. She did do 28 songs though, including a really rad James Brown medley. The only reason I know it was 28 is because we had to keep a tally for Shane
.
Heather España - Dempsey.bill: Thanks! Actually, I took my Canon Rebel XTi to the concert instead of my 5d. I had my 50mm 1.4 lens on though, so it handled the low light really well. Yay!
alisa - p.s. did she do “lady marmalade?”
alisa - i love love LOVE the pictures of shane. what a memory! mike has such a good brother.
Dempsey.bill - OMG! Nice Pics… Did you really lug your 5d in there!!!
