Vintage food photography cracks me up. I pulled these out of the old Better Homes & Gardens cookbook I just got from my mom. In light of Halloween, I thought it might be an appropriate time to post these disgustingly freaky pictures
. That stuff on the left? Yeah…supposedly omelets. And the stuff in the middle? Supposedly burgers on pasta.
My absolute favorite is the one on the right. THAT is a liver & sausage dip, molded in the shape of a pineapple (why, I’ll never know) and covered with fake cheese and pimento stuffed green olives. I think it would go nicely with brains and tongue, yes?

Liver and sausage in a pineapple shape…reminds me of the “Cooking With Spam” calendar I saw in a Portland novelty store.
