Steve & Tara Sneak Peek | Oregon Photographer

Steve & Tara are two of our closest friends (which is why they let me ride their scooter, but I’ll get to that later!). I got to photograph their amazing wedding a little over a year ago, and they decided to take advantage of the Holiday Session Special to get some photos for their Christmas card this year. Plus, Tara gets a 25% discount for being my Sales Rep.

Photographing in Newberg can be a little more challenging than, say, Portland. We don’t have as much of an abundance of textures and colors and sculptures, so it’s a fun contest to find new spots to shoot in town. I have my new friend & España Photography second shooter Ryan to thank for the tip on this location…[thanks Ryan!]

I was so thankful to have this amazing sun for the entire session. I had a lot of fun playing with shadows.

Um, I don’t know. But it was funny.

It’s also a fun challenge to come up with new shot perspectives in playgrounds. This is another one taken through the metal staircase.

And the infamous little red scooter. After the session, Steve graciously tried to give me a mini lesson because I’ve always wanted to try. Well, I tried. I ended up flat on my belly with my nose smashed in the concrete. After a precautionary afternoon in the hospital, I am pleased to say that both the scooter and my nose are okay! Just banged up. Being the awesome people they are, they brought drinks and dinner over when I got back from the ER and we watched Wallace & Gromit.

Whee!
