Confession: I am a snow weeny. I hate being cold and ice makes me super nervous. I have stayed in my house for the past three days, barely leaving EVER. It felt warmer this morning, so I got all bundled up to go for a walk on the track near our house. I almost fell on my butt. I turned around and came right back inside!
Bottom line: if the road is not asphalt-colored, I’m not driving on it. Maybe if I had a big vehicle with good studded tires…but we have a Corolla, balding tires and no chains. My friend Robin came and picked me up today, which took some serious convincing on her part. But it was so nice to get out of the house! And to buy some actual FOOD to eat around here. No joke – last night we had popcorn and hershey kisses for dinner. Baaaaad.
There IS something I absolutely love about the snow….

I love the way it’s clinging to all the branches and individual pine needles and leaves. I love the little bird footprints in our driveway. I love the way falling snowflakes look in pictures. I love the way they tickle on my eyelashes and stick in my husband’s beard. I love the white against the warm red colors of the blueberry bush outside my office window…
