Snow Flake | Oregon Photographer

I woke up this morning, too early, and looked out the window.

Another foot of snow.
This layer is all soft and powdery.
I went out with a broom to knock the snow off our neighbors tree.
It’s threatening to land in a deafening crash on our driveway.
Gripe.  Grumble.
No Christmas with my family. Argh. Mutter.
Whack the broom against the branches.
Snow in my eyes.
I started heading back inside.
And then, I wish I’d had my macro lens – because I saw a snowflake.
No, I know, there are snowflakes everywhere.
But I saw a WHOLE snowflake, dancing on a spider web from our front porch.
It wasn’t a white blur falling from the sky.
It looked like the kind I cut from a paper triangle, but 50 times more gorgeous.
Suddenly, I shut up.
