Flying. . . | Destination Wedding Photographer

I can’t even tell you how much I love flying.

The sound of the engines starting up, the whir of the wind against the wings, the pressure that pushes you back into your seat as you leave the ground, and that delicious stomach-flopping weightlessness you feel when the plane levels out.  I even get excited when I’m going to the airport and I’m not the one who gets to go anywhere.  I love watching the people and imagining the stories that go along with them.

The whole experience makes me, as my friends Mary+Joel say, “giddy as a schoolgirl.”  Yes, even WITH all the security checkpoints, and even WITH the sickening drop in meal quality.  I miss my peanuts.  But I LOVE to fly, which is yet another reason I absolutely love my job.  This season I’m looking forward to more traveling to meet my lovely clients and photograph their weddings!

And in keeping with the flying theme, here’s an image I took on my East Coast trip last season at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. . . a tantalizing reminder of what airline food used to look like. . .
