You may have noticed there are some new links off to the left at the top!  While I have links to most of these things in the “Websites” menu of this blog, I realized that many of you might not click there on a regular basis, and it might not be the most convenient place to have them.  SO I added slide-out tabs on the left for you links at the top for you  Hopefully you will find them useful.

NEW UPDATE: To get to the home page of this blog now, just click the España Photography logo in the header .  I have also replaced the old header — I hope you like it!  Try refreshing the page, and you will see a new header each time.  I have it set so it will load a new static image now instead of play a slideshow, in hopes that will make everything load even quicker for you as you look around.

Since my career is both my passion and my job, I’ve found it to be so important to make sure I am still taking pictures outside of weddings and sessions.  Take my camera outside and just play.  Participating in Flickr groups has really helped to keep me accountable to that.

Today the lovely Tammy Lee featured one of my “just for fun” photos on her blog HERE.  I recommend exploring a bit and seeing what others are doing with their cameras in their free time.

You may have heard me talk about Totally Rad Actions before, or you’ve probably heard the name somewhere else.  Photographers of all stages have kind of gone nuts about them over the last couple years.  I don’t think actions should be over-used, but Totally Rad Actions are pretty awesome.  I entered a recipe for their website, and they’ve featured it.

The image I used is [I think] a good example of where actions come in handy.  It was already very late, and I wanted to be able to preserve some detail and warmth in the background.  If I had exposed for their skin, the background would have been blown out, and I didn’t want to use any artificial light on their faces because I loved what the sun was doing right then.  So, TRA to save the day.  Anyway, you can click HERE to see the recipe if you like.

Having been in the wedding business for several years now, I cannot tell you how valuable it is to have a talented wedding coordinator.  It takes so much pressure off the couple and the family, and a good coordinator will put you at ease and make sure everything runs smoothly.
