We had some pretty crazy weather.  Downpours, light sprinkling, sunshine and rainbows.  While it messed with our schedule quite a bit, it made for some beautiful images.  Look for the ones where it looks like it’s snowing — not Photoshopped.  Just rain.  How do I shoot in the rain?  A hands-free umbrella.  It’s super sexy.  The bummer about the weather was that the reception got moved inside the barn, but it all worked out.  It was an amazing day!

More behind the scenes?  Okay.  After the reception was over, Rachel and I needed to psych ourselves up for the two and half hour drive back home.  Shooting for ten hours, you get pretty tired.  So we both brought comfy pajamas to change into, and then we spun around in crazy circles outside while looking at the stars.  After almost falling on our faces a couple times, we got in the car and drove home.

And that, dear blog lookers, is how I ended the 2011 wedding season.

She made the last image in this post], a beautiful moody-weather-ed day in Parkdale Oregon, super awesome clients and equally awesome vendors.

This is Ken and Aletheia.  They had that glorious engagement session at Powell Butte Nature Park back in the Spring.  I seriously love hanging out with these people.  They are hilarious, laid back but super organized, creative, and they enjoy life.  All those things + me = big happy grin.

Since we were at the mercy of the weather and a tight timeline on the wedding day, I met up with Austin+Erin the next morning so we could hang out and have a quiet morning to get more photos of just the two of them.  And I’m so glad we did!  The weather was perfect. . . any excuse for more time and more photos with these two.

We were visited by a whole family of monkeys in a tree.  I did not get to bring one home with me.

IN OTHER NEWS: I have a Celebrating Adoption session to show you, a James Bond-inspired birthday party to show you, plus a ton of personal work from Jamaica, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.  I am leaving this Thursday for a beautiful NY wedding though, so thank you for your patience between blog posts.  I’ll be back on July 28th with even MORE wedding photos and personal work!  It must be wedding season.

It was the rainy season in Costa Rica, so they had a tent standing by, but they ended up not needing it!  They had one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve seen in a long time. . . bare feet, married by their friend and yoga instructor.  It was very personal, unique and heart-felt.

And then came the reception!  Like I said before, these guys know how to have FUN.  Delicious food, fantastic music, 80′s costumes and serious dance moves.  There was also a crazy photo booth, which will be coming later!  I have SO many great dance shots it’s kind of ridiculous.  I could have done a whole post of just the reception.  But these will have to suffice. . .Big props to Becca for getting this shot. . . I love it!  Garter at the end of the rainbow.
